Community MapArt Production Experience Reflection
I can document and reflect upon the mini-lessons and art production experiences I completed this semester in ITE 326, Visual Arts, Elementary. I can create a title for this art experience: Many People, One Community I can describe the instructional strategies used as a motivation for creating my own work of art: Students would be able to create their own community and put what ever kind of stores they would I can cite a HCPS III in the Visual Arts and the Benchmark I feel this lesson meets: Benchmark FA.DP.2.1Demonstrate understanding of the elements of art and principles of design when creating original works of art Benchmark FA.DP.1.1Demonstrate an understanding of dry media, such as pencil, pen, pastels, and conte crayon Students are meeting this standard because they are creating an original piece of art. I can list the materials I used: • Large white paper • Pencil & Eraser • Sharpie • Color Pencils I can reflect on my personal involvement in the creative process during this art experience, and how I would inspire my students to feel positive about this experience: Students can be as creative as they would like and add in anything that they would like in their community. I feel that this way they can create something with their classmates and sort of "bond" in a sense that they are making somewhere that they would ideally like to live in, if they had the opportunity to create such a place. I can modify this experience to provide art instruction for different grade levels. List 2-3 ways: 1- I would, for 4th-5th graders, set a theme on the type of community that they would create. So maybe like a time period theme, or a cultural theme of the area that they would have to create. 2- For the younger set of students, I would have them create a smaller map, or they could map out on how they would like their dream house to look like. I can list 2-3 different ways to integrate other subject matter into this lesson: 1- You could integrate Social Studies into this lesson by teaching students about topography. 2- This lesson could also be tied into Language Arts, and students can write a letter saying why their community should be built. I can list 2-3 teaching skills that I can use as a teacher from this lesson. 1- Group work 2- Time management |
